Hills Football League Umpires Association (HFLUA)

                

The Hills Football League Umpires Association has a proud history of supplying umpires for all three disciplines (field, boundary and goals) to all divisions of the Hills Football League and providing a pathway for aspiring umpires to develop their skills and progress to SANFL and AFL level.

Umpiring is a great way to be paid to keep fit, be involved in the game and it is the best seat in the house! 

The HFLUA works closely with the HFL board to ensure games are officiated in line with the HFL by-laws and strives for consistency across all grades. 

New umpires are always welcome and will be buddied up with experienced umpires as they learn and develop. All you need is enthusiasm, a basic level of fitness and an understanding of the laws of the game.

A new initiative is for junior umpires to field umpire U12 games and U11 games (new in season 2025). This is a fantastic way to get into field umpiring without conflicting with games on a Saturday as they are often played on a Friday night.

A grade boundary umpiring also provides junior footballers with the opportunity to play footy in the morning and boundary umpire A grade games in the afternoon (earning between $60 - $120 per game).

Training is held every Tuesday night at 6:00pm sharp for approximately 75 minutes, at The Summit Oval, Mt Barker as well as an indoor training venue at times. There is a mix of running, skills sessions and video review.

HLUA members are supported with their development through the assistance of the following coaching personnel:
